The September 16, 2008 edition of the Edmonton Journal, an Alberta, Canada, newspaper, featured Transport For Christ in one of its articles. Where Faith in Christ Meets a Life on the Road, by Jamie Hall, featured the TFC Sherwood Park Chapel located at the Road King Travel Center (Yellowhead Trail & Broadmoor Blvd). You can read the story online by clicking here. Lead Chaplain Sam McIntosh explained during the interview, "There are a lot of drivers driving around with a lot of heartaches, but in a macho world you don't express those heartaches. Our little chapel is like a safe haven for truckers. They seem to be able to open up in here because we don't judge and we don't criticize--we just try to teach God's Word." One reader posted the following comment about the article on the Edmonton Journal Web site: Thank you, Journal, for this article. Amid high gas prices, federal politics and Eastern conflicts, this article was a blessing to read. We need more stories like this to remind us that there are good things happening out there. Good work! If you visit their site, please pass on your comments of appreciation for their willingness to publish this article. You can contact Chaplain Sam for more information about Sherwood Park Chapel via e-mail at tfcsam@netscape.ca or by calling 780-203-3784.
